Thanks much for the assistance.

I tried the symlink approach, but it didn't seem to work.

I opened up a bug at KDE about this, if anyone's interested. 
(https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=381693)  Perhaps they'll have some 
suggestions for workarounds (or a fix).
