and it has terminal output issues bigtime. Whatever is causing it the download
meter and filename jump back and for by 4-8 characters hundreds of time,
sometime injecting a newline. The following is the output from tonight's update:

That's just bizarre. Haven't seen this behavior before in the last decade+.
