Heya Pierre,

KDM themes are typically installed to: $KDEDIR/share/apps/kdm/themes

To select one, modify $KDEDIR/share/config/kdm/kdmrc with the new path:

  Theme=/opt/kde/share/apps/kdm/themes/archlinux-simplyblack

Also, make sure UseTheme=true is set (it should be near the Theme=
declaration).  I think we have a package in the repos (kdetheme) that
does all of this through a GUI.

The *.desktop is intentional. KDM and GDM use more or less the same
theme syntax (GDM more, KDE less). I do wish the Kdevs adopted the
full syntax--it would make my life a lot easier :)

Let me know if that does the trick...
