Things have calm down on the packaging side now. I'd like to bring up
again our long wanted move away from cvs.

From what I read and talk around it seems most European devs are more
comfortable with svn and American devs prefer git.

Time of discussion should end now very soon. We should now make a
decision and then act.

Can someone who knows both very well collect pros/cons for both?
